Prompt

Oriental tattoo flash art of a fierce pouncing tiger with glowing white eyes, drawn in solid black ink with fine engraved line work describing the fur and muscle. Stylised Chinese cloud and wave motifs fill the space around the body, a simplified mountain sits behind. High contrast black on bare cream paper, no grey wash and no shading beyond line density. The composition flows around the animal rather than sitting square in the frame.

Tips

1No grey wash. Density of line does all the tonal work.
2Cloud and wave motifs filling the negative space is what makes it read as tattoo rather than illustration.
3Animals in motion suit the tradition far better than static poses.
